I certainly did, and without "getting off and pushing, or stopping for a
breather", as specified by Paul 'utter bastard' Ockenden.

Today I am knackered, aching, chafed and sore, but otherwise feeling fine.
All in all, it was very enjoyable experience, and I'd heartily recommend
it to anyone.

I do have a few pointers as to how you could make it easier on yourself,
however:

* Don't stay up till past midnight the day before drinking, smoking and
trying to dye your friend's hair red and white.
* Don't have a small child that wakes you up four hours later cos he's
hungry.
* Don't then arrange a rendezvous at 5.30am for a 6.00 start, meaning that
you don't have time to sleep any more.
* Don't have a very hot curry beforehand - stinging ringpeice and saddle
soreness is a nasty combo.[1]
* Do try to do more training than 3 x 20min sessions on an exercise bike.
* Do try to obtain a bike with losts of gears for the Beacon.

[1] OK, fortunately this one didn't happen to me, as the ring stinging had
worn off by Sun morning, but it was touch and go...
